GCD relations

The GCD Relations Category indicates relations between GCDs on component. It includes the following GCD relation types:

Ends On

The Ends on GCD Relation Type indicates when the end edge of the first GCD lies on the contour of the second GCD.

The GCD details are as follows:

Description

GCDs

First

The name and number that identifies the first GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Second

The name and number that identifies the second GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Intersects

The Intersects GCD Relation Type indicates when a portion of the two GCD boundaries are coincident or touching at one or more points, or when the boundary of one lies inside the boundary of another.

The GCD details are as follows:

Description

GCDs

First

The name and number that identifies the first GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Second

The name and number that identifies the second GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Properties

Distance (mm)

The distance between the second GCD and the curved part of the emboss.

Is Planar

Distance is computed only if this value is True.

Lies Near

The Lies Near GCD Relation Type indicates when the distance between the two GCDs is less than the recognition distance defined for the combination of GCD types and their attribute values.

The minimum distance between the boundaries between two non-intersecting GCDs.

Lies Outside

The Lies Outside GCD Relation Type indicates the main surface is defined and the first GCD lies in the same bend step path as the second GCD, and there are less ‘steps’ along the path to get to any blank edge in increasing distance for the first GCD than for the second GCD.

The GCD details are as follows:

Description

GCDs

First

The name and number that identifies the first GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Second

The name and number that identifies the second GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Parallel

The Parallel GCD Relation Type indicates that both bends are straight and end on the same GCD, and the distance between the bend axes are less than a given recognition distance, and the angle between them is less than some constant.

The GCD details are as follows:

Description

GCDs

First

The name and number that identifies the first GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Second

The name and number that identifies the second GCD. This information is an identifier only and is not used in any cost calculation.

Properties

Angle (deg)

The angle between the straight axes of the bends. The relation can only be established between two bends with Is Straight equal to True.

Distance (mm)

The maximum distance between the bend axes.
